Privacy

Fuel Roam is a UK fuel-price discovery service. This policy explains the information used by the Fuel Roam website, app and API.

Location

When you allow location access, Fuel Roam uses your current coordinates to request nearby fuel stations and prices. Location permission is requested only while you use the app. Fuel Roam does not currently provide background location tracking.

Vehicle preferences

Your usual fuel type, search radius, tank size and MPG may be stored on your device so Fuel Roam can calculate Smart Value. These values do not need to identify you.

Fuel Roam accounts

Free use can begin without providing an email address. If you create an account for Fuel Roam+, we store your email address, a securely hashed password, account identifiers and authentication-session information. We do not store your plain-text password.

Payments and subscriptions

Fuel Roam does not store card details. iPhone and iPad purchases are processed by Apple, Android purchases by Google Play, and eligible web purchases by Stripe. We store provider transaction, customer and subscription identifiers needed to verify and maintain your Fuel Roam+ entitlement.

Fuel-price data

Fuel price and forecourt information is sourced from the UK Government Fuel Finder service and cached by Fuel Roam to provide fast nearby searches.

Service and security data

Our servers may process ordinary technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as request timestamps, IP addresses, error information and security logs. We aim to keep only what is reasonably necessary for operation, troubleshooting and abuse prevention.

Analytics and cookies

On the Fuel Roam website, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, page usage and general interaction trends. Analytics is optional and Google Analytics is not loaded unless you choose “Accept analytics” in our cookie notice. If you reject analytics, Fuel Roam does not load the Google Analytics script.

If you accept analytics, Google may process information such as pages visited, device and browser information, approximate location derived from network information, and interaction data on our behalf. Your analytics choice is stored in your browser so we can remember it. You can change that choice later using the Cookie settings link on the website.

Android Founder testing

If you apply for the Android Founder testing programme, we process the information you submit so we can select and administer testers, provide closed-test access, collect private testing feedback and activate an eligible Founder Roam+ reward. This can include your name, contact email, Google Play account email, FuelRoam account email, Android device/model and version, optional social source or username, testing checklist progress, feedback, app version and ordinary browser/device information attached to a feedback submission.

Founder programme information is used for testing, support, launch-readiness records, abuse prevention and reward administration. Participation does not require a positive review or public rating.

Sharing

We use service providers where necessary to operate Fuel Roam, including hosting infrastructure, the payment providers described above and, where you consent to analytics, Google Analytics. We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

Your choices

• You can deny or revoke location permission in your device settings.
• You can use the core fuel finder without creating an email account.
• You can accept or reject optional website analytics and change that choice later through Cookie settings.
• You can manage native subscriptions through Apple or Google Play.
• You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of account information, subject to legal and operational retention requirements.

This policy may be updated as Fuel Roam adds or changes features. The current version will remain available at this address.

This is the launch privacy policy and will be reviewed before public App Store and Google Play release.
